Courses on the Ethical Management of Conflicts |
Since October 2006 more than 5,000 people have taken part in our courses. These courses are focused on improving our way of living and the way we live with others, from an ethical basis that can be applied across the fields of our personal, social and political lives.
This programme is based on the promotion of ethical values in schools, through theatre. More than 10,000 young people have already passed through Arantzazu to participate in the experience.

Arantzazu. A meeting point with Africa |
The third edition of Africa Week took place from June 8th – 13th, with the participation of representatives of organised civil society from the Basque Country, South Africa, Swaziland, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Benin, Burkina Faso, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gambia and Kenya. Throughout the six days, contradictions and alternatives to solidarity with Africa were debated through the Afrikandugu proposal, in order to promote and share the figure of cooperative twinnings. In the conclusions document ( es-ES) this proposal is supported as a working hypothesis to improve and renovate solidarity among civil societies in both continents and it includes amendments to the proposal, starting with a change in title. |

The “From Asis to Arantzazu” Proposal |
We have developed a proposal of inter-religious and intercultural meeting points centred around four basic lessons. This proposal is accompanied by 40 universal texts and 40 prayers for peace from many cultures and religions. It has been edited into six languages. The material has been sent to all of the schools in the Basque Country along with a teaching guide, and we have presented it internationally in forums that work towards understanding between religions, cultures and civilizations.
We have created a programme of rest and leisure retreats for marginalised groups in our region: people suffering long-term illnesses, prisoners, addicts, homeless people, people with disabilities, etc. These organisations spend a few days enjoying a varied programme of activities in Arantzazu.
We are promoting a project for the better integration of young unaccompanied minors in situations of risk, through the creation of foster aunts and uncles. We intend to create a family of reference, to act as aunts and uncles in support of a better integration for the unaccompanied minor.
